How to Create a Cloud VPS
This guide explains how to create and configure a Cloud VPS within the SeFlow control panel, selecting the hypervisor (OpenStack or VMware), the resource size, and the networking options that best suit your needs.
Cloud VPS Configuration Procedure
With your SeFlow Cloud account, you can activate up to 30 virtual machines (Cloud Servers and Cloud VPS). For a higher number, you must contact SeFlow customer support.
To create a Cloud VPS, proceed as follows:
- log in to the SeFlow Control Panel with your Cloud account credentials;
- from the main menu go to Public Cloud > VPS > Cloud VPS > Create new VPS;
- follow the Cloud VPS configuration procedure, which varies depending on the chosen hypervisor:
- OpenStack
- VMware
OpenStack Cloud VPS
Below are the steps to create a Cloud VPS based on OpenStack technology.
1 - Technology Selection
- select the OpenStack hypervisor;
- choose the operating system you want to deploy (Linux or Windows).
2 - Size Selection
Resources (vCPU, RAM, disk space, data transfer) are grouped into predefined sizes. Choose the one that best suits your needs:
- Starter
Available only for Linux, includes IPv6, optional IPv4 (paid), SSD storage, 99.80% SLA. - Standard
Available for Linux and Windows, IPv4 included, optional IPv6 (free), NVMe storage, 99.95% SLA.
3 - Template Selection
- choose one of the available system templates;
- configure the networking options:
- Add a public IPv4 address (Starter size) – provides an optional paid IPv4 in addition to the automatically assigned IPv6;
- Add a public IPv6 address (Standard size) – includes an IPv6 address in addition to the IPv4 automatically assigned.
4 - Server Information
- assign a server name, useful for identification inside the panel (e.g., based on project or role);
5 - Server Management Account
- enter the access password for the Cloud VPS (administrator/root or equivalent);
- if you choose a Linux template, you can also add an SSH key for passwordless secure access.
Cost Summary and Creation
- review the cost summary, which shows the breakdown per resource type (compute, storage, IP, etc.);
- click CREATE YOUR CLOUD VPS to open the confirmation modal;
- confirm with OK, CREATE CLOUD SERVER to start the provisioning.
VMware Cloud VPS
Below are the steps to create a Cloud VPS based on VMware technology.
1 - Technology Selection
- select the VMware hypervisor.
2 - Template Selection
- choose one of the available templates based on OS and configuration;
- enable the option Add a public IPv6 address to obtain an IPv6 address in addition to the automatically assigned IPv4.
3 - Size Selection
- select the resource size (vCPU, RAM, disk, traffic) appropriate for your project or application.
4 - Server Information
- assign a descriptive server name to easily recognize the Cloud VPS among others.
5 - Server Management Account
- set the administrator password for server access;
- if using a Linux template, you may add an SSH key for secure passwordless access.
Cost Summary and Creation
- check the cost summary detailing the fees for each selected resource;
- click CREATE YOUR CLOUD VPS to open the confirmation modal;
- confirm with OK, CREATE CLOUD SERVER to initiate server creation.
