At the moment there is a know issue on x86_64 FreeBSD boot image for VMs with > 2GB RAM.
When you ask for FreeBSD provisioning system will boot FreeBSD image, create filesystem and copy all files. If VM is greater than 2GB RAM it fail to start.
Workaround:
- Edit VM with 512MB RAM
- Provisioning FreeBSD
- Resize VM with needed RAM. (8,16,24,32GB RAM or what you need)
This limitation is only on provisioning VM. When vm is installed you can edit VM with any RAM size
